Our Collections

The Episcopal Project Digital Asset Catalog presents items in three major collections: Church Records, Church Stories, and Church Places. Each record and story is associated with one or more Church Places. Some are also associated with Church People. Church Places and People help to create a web of connectivity between our items, allowing you to discover the stories inherent in these valuable objects. See below for descriptions and click on the images to explore each collection.

Church Records

Church Records is our main collection of materials from churches and parishes. This collection includes church registers, church programs, photographs, correspondence, and various other records. These records contain information about church histories, leaders, services, programs, and genealogical data like baptisms, marriages, and burials.

Church Stories

Church Stories is dedicated to preserving the stories and first person histories of congregations. These include interviews, oral histories, surveys, and essays from church leaders and other members of the church community.

Church Places

Church Places provides information about the churches and parishes represented in the digital catalog, including an image, description, location data, founding year, current status, province and diocese, and the year the church was closed (if applicable).

Church People

Church People includes profiles of significant people in the church community. Profiles contain one or more photographs, a biography highlighting the person's achievements within their church and community, birthdate and birthplace. By clicking on the subject item to the right of the photo, you can reach all items in the catalog associated with this individual.
